Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Situation A:
One or two sprocket bolts are loose, but the threaded holes in the final drive housing are NOT stripped or damaged.
1. The following items are needed in order to perform this Rework Procedure.
For 320D - 326D Excavators:
- 447-1717 Bolt
- Torque wrench (click type)
- Loctite 243 thread locker adhesive, blue
- M20X2.5 thread tap
2. Remove the bolt. Use an appropriate cleaner in order to remove debris from the threads of both the bolt, and the threaded bolt hole.
3. Apply Loctite 243 evenly to the threads of the bolt.
4. Reinstall the bolt through torque turn, and tighten to a specified torque of 150 N.m plus 35 degrees.
Situation B:
Multiple sprocket bolts loose, and the threaded holes in the final drive housing are stripped or damaged.
1. The following items are needed in order to perform the repair procedure.
320D - 326D Excavators - New 447-1717 Bolt (Qty 16)
320D - 323D Excavators - New 191-3235 Housing
324D Excavators - New 267-6797 Motor Housing
- Torque wrench (click type)
- Loctite 243 thread locker adhesive, blue
- M20X2.5 thread tap
- Torque wrench (click type)
- Tooling for track separation
2. Remove the track assembly. Refer to UENR0139, Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate" for 320D - 323D Excavators. Refer to RENR8646, Disassembly and Assembly, "Track - Separate" for 324D - 329D Excavators.
3. Check the final drive housing for damage to threaded holes (A). If the threads are stripped or damage, replace the final drive housing with a new final drive housing. Refer to Image1.2.1.

4. Check each sprocket hole (C) for distortion or for raised edges. Grind the raised edge of the sprocket hole flat, if necessary. Refer to Image1.3.1.

5. Inspect the mating surfaces between final drive housing and the sprocket. If the mating surfaces are badly worn, replace the final drive housing with a new final drive housing.
Note: For the removal and installation procedures of the final drive and the sprocket, refer to UENR0139, Disassembly and Assembly, for 320D - 323D Excavators and RENR8646, Disassembly and Assembly, for 324D - 326D Excavators.
6. Apply Loctite 243 evenly to the threads of the new bolts.
7. Install the new bolts and tighten to a specified torque of 150 N.m plus 35 degree.
