Information:


At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the fill plug only when the engine is stopped, and the fill plug is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system by slowly loosening the fill plug located on top of the hydraulic oil tank.2. Remove the access cover from under the cab.
View From Under Cab3. Put identification marks on all hoses connected to the hydraulic and directional control valve so they can be reinstalled in their original locations. Disconnect all hoses (1) from the valve. Put plugs in the hoses to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system.4. Disconnect rod (2) from the hydraulic and directional control valve.5. Disconnect wiring harness (2) from the neutral switch. Install the hydraulic and directional control valve in the reverse order of removal. Check the condition of the O-ring seals used in hoses (1). If the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.6. Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil tank. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.Disassemble & Assemble Hydraulic & Directional Control Valve
Start By:a. remove hydraulic and directional control valve1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the hydraulic and directional control valve prior to disassembly.2. Put identification marks on all of the hydraulic fittings in the valve body as to their location. Remove the fitting from the valve body. 3. Mark the position of lever (8) on the end of valve spool (6) so it can be reinstalled in its original position. Remove nut (14) and spring washer (9). Remove lever (8) from the end of the valve spool.4. Remove bolts (1) and bolts (13). Remove holders (7) and (10). Slide valve spool (6) out of the valve body.5. Remove steel ball (5), back-up rings (2) and (12) and O-ring seals (11) and (3) from valve body (4). Assemble the hydraulic and directional control valve in the reverse order of disassembly. Prior to assembling the valve, be sure all parts of the valve are clean and free of dirt and debris. Put clean hydraulic oil on the internal parts of the valve. Also, check the condition of the O-ring seals and back-up rings. If any of the O-ring seals or back-up rings are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 6 0.6 N m (4 0.4 lb ft). Tighten nut (14) to a torque of 22 2 N m (16 1.6 lb ft).End By:a. install hydraulic and directional control valve
