To prevent possible personal injury, make sure the pressure in the air system is zero before any air lines are disconnected.
2. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2). 3. Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (6).4. Disconnect air lines (5).5. Remove bolts (3) that hold the diverter valve to the manifold. Remove the diverter valve. The following steps are for installation of the diverter valve.6. Make sure the O-ring seal and screen are in position in the manifold. Put the diverter valve in position on the manifold and install bolts (3).7. Connect hose assemblies (4) and (6).8. Connect air lines (5).9. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) to the diverter valve.10. Remove the body retaining cable, and lower the truck body.Disassemble And Assemble Diverter Valve (Torque Converter And Brake Cooling)
Start By:a. remove diverter valve (torque converter and brake cooling) 1. Remove two bolts (7) and air cylinder group (6) from the valve body.2. If required, remove the lip type seal from air cylinder group (6).3. Remove O-ring seal (5).4. Remove plug (1), spring (3) and stem (4) from the valve body. Remove O-ring seal (2) from the plug. The following steps are for assembly of the diverter valve (torque converter and brake cooling).5. Put stem (4) in position in valve body (8), and install spring (3).6. Put O-ring seal (2) in position on plug (1), and install the plug in the valve body.7. Use tool (A), and install lip-type seal (8) in air cylinder group (6). Install seal (8) with the lip as shown. Put clean oil on the lip of the seal.8. Put O-ring seal (5) in position in air cylinder group (6). Put the air cylinder group in position on the end of the valve body.9.
