When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.

PROBLEM
In certain applications of the 0R0844 Long Block it is necessary to have three bolts installed inside the front cover to prevent a possible oil leak during operation. The three bolts hold the cover shown in Image1 at the locations designated by the arrows.
These bolts were not installed during the assembly process, and operation of engine will lead to an oil leak and possible damage to the engine.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all OR0844 Long Blocks in dealer parts stock for three bolts holding the cover shown in Image1 in the location designated by arrows. The bolts will be visible from inside the front cover. Two of the three bolt locations as viewed inside the front cover are shown in Image2.
- If the bolts are present, tag the engine to indicate it has been inspected according to this program (PI7####).
- If the bolts are NOT present, install three 1A2029 Bolts. Tag the engine to indicate it has been inspected according to this program (PI7####).
Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manual for specific assembly procedures and bolt torque specification.

SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all parts reworked in dealer parts stock.
A maximum of 1.0 hour will be allowed for each long block in dealer parts stock that is missing bolts and is reworked according to this program.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
