Transmission ECM
The following is a list of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that are associated with the Speed Sensors of the machine.
Table 1
Transmission ECM (MID 27)
DTC Code Description System Response
190-02 Engine Speed Sensor: Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect Transmission shifts to neutral.
190-08 Engine Speed Sensor: Abnormal Signal Transmission shifts to neutral.
191-02 Transmission Output Speed Sensor: Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect Drops Lockup Clutch.
Allows downshift only.
191-08 Transmission Output Speed Sensor: Abnormal Frequency, Pulse Width, or Period Drops Lockup Clutch.
Allows downshift only.
585-02 Transmission Output Speed Sensor #1: Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect Drops Lockup Clutch.
Allows downshift only.
585-08 Transmission Output Speed Sensor #1: Abnormal Signal Drops Lockup Clutch.
Allows downshift only.
672-02 Torque Converter Output Speed Sensor: Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect Lockup Clutch engaged if Engine Output Speed > 1440
Lockup Clutch disengaged if Engine Output Speed < 1430
672-08 Torque Converter Speed Sensor: Abnormal Signal Lockup Clutch engaged if Engine Output Speed > 1440
Lockup Clutch disengaged if Engine Output Speed < 1430 Possible Causes for a DTC 190-02, 191-02, 585-02, and 672-02 are:
Wire is shorted to the ground circuit while the machine is in operation.
Wire is shorted to the +Battery.
An open circuit exists.
The ECM has failed (unlikely).Possible Causes for a DTC 190-08, 191-08, 585-08, and DTC 672-08 are:
Intermittent connections or poor connections.
The sensor is loose.
The sensor has failed.
The ECM has failed (unlikely).

Note: The diagrams above are simplified schematics of the Transmission ECM connections. These schematics are electrically correct. However, not all of the possible harness connectors are shown. Refer to the latest revision of Electrical Schematic, UENR3186 for the complete schematic.Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedure
Note: Prior to beginning this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in this circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure, and in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that the diagnostic code is active before performing a troubleshooting procedure.

2. Verify The Software Version
A. Check and record the latest software version for the machine electronic controls from SIS.
B. Verify that the latest version of software has been loaded to the Transmission ECM.
All of the software is current. OK - All of the software is current.
Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - There is a more recent software release that is available.
Repair: Flash all controls with the latest software release. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Flash Program".
STOP
3. Check The Harness
A. Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
B. Inspect the harness.
C. Check for proper mating.
D. Check the exposed wires for nicks and abrasions.
E. Check for moisture, dirt, or corrosion.
F. Check the pin/socket for a proper fit.
G. Disconnect the machine harness connectors from the Transmission ECM.
