A 5P-7311 Chain Puller 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install drive chain (10). The weight of drive chain (10) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).

Install Tooling (A) on drive chain (10). Install master link (8) so cotter pins (9) are toward the opposite chain. Install cotter pins (9) and remove Tooling (A). Note: The links should not be in adjacent tooth spaces on the sprocket when the links pass on the center sprocket, or interference may result.
Rotate wheel spindle (7) in order to bring master link (8) to an accessible place.

Install cover (2) and install bolts (1). Install cover (4) and install bolts (3). Install cover (6) and install bolts (5). Tighten bolts (1), (3), and (5) to a torque of 27 7 N m (20 5 lb ft).
Fill the tandem housing with oil. The capacity of the tandem housing is 64 L (16.9 US gal) for the 143H. The capacity of the tandem housing is 80 L (21.1 US gal) for the 163H. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tandem Drive Oil - Change" for the correct procedure. End By:
Install the drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft - Remove and Install".
Install the rear tires and the rims. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel (Rear) - Remove and Install".
