The Logging Fork uses two hydraulic cylinders in order to operate the clamp.When oil is supplied to the head end of the cylinder through port (4), oil flows through check valve (2). This forces piston (16) and piston (17) to move to the right. Since the pistons and rod (6) are connected, the rod is forced out of the cylinder housing. This action closes the clamp of the work tool. When oil is supplied to rod end through port (7), oil forces piston (16) and piston (17) to move to the left. As a result, the rod retracts into the cylinder housing. This action causes the clamp of the work tool to open.The recommended maximum working pressure of the cylinder is 20,684 kPa (3000 psi). When possible, the cylinder should operate at the specified pressures for optimum performance. If the host machine cannot produce a sufficient amount of pressure, the performance of the Logging Fork will be diminished.
