Introduction
This instruction gives the procedure for field installation of the D6H Engine Enclosures.Reference: Operation and Maintenance Guide, Parts Book and Service Manual. Install 3W0968 Strip (1) and 3W0967 Strip (2) to hood (3) using the following procedure.1. Weld from location (A) to location (B) and from location (C) to location (D) using 3 mm (.12") fillet welds 25 mm (1") long, with 50 mm (2") between welds in location (E).2. Weld from location (F) to location (G) using 3 mm (.12") fillet welds 25 mm (1") long with 50 mm (2") between welds in location (H).3. Weld from location (F) to location (I) and from location (J) to location (K) using 2.5 mm (.1") fillet welds in location (L).4. Weld at location (M) using 2.5 mm (.1") fillet welds. 5. Install 3W1099 Hinge Assembly (4) (top hinge RH door, bottom hinge LH door) and 3W1102 Hinge Assembly (5) (bottom hinge RH door, top hinge LH door) with 0T0102 Bolts and 5P1075 Washers.6. Adjust lower hinge vertically to obtain 2 1 mm (.08 .04") clearance between door and upper hinge. 7. Adjust lower plates (6) to the front and rear to obtain an even gap between top of door and bottom of hood. Tighten bolts.8. Make vertical adjustment to the rear of the lower engine guard to obtain an even gap between bottom of door and guard.9. Install support assemblies (7) [3W2430 (RH), 3W2435 (LH)]. Adjust to obtain 10 mm (.4") gap between rear of door and support.10. Install and adjust 3W5733 Angle Assemblies (8).11. Adjust 3W9829 Bracket Assemblies (9) vertically so striker centers with door latch.12. Adjust strikers (10) and handles (11) as required.
