Remove Lift Cylinders (931B)
To remove a lift cylinder, support bracket (1) must be installed on the opposite lift cylinder. See INSTALL AND REMOVE SUPPORT BRACKET. If both lift cylinders are removed at the same time, use tooling (A) as a support for the lift arms as shown.
Move all control levers backward and forward to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Slowly loosen the cap to release any pressure in the hydraulic tank. Let the hydraulic oil become cool before any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
1. Disconnect oil lines (2) from the tube assemblies. 2. Fasten a hoist to the lift cylinder. Remove plate (3) that holds pin (4) for the rod end of the lift cylinder to the lift arms.3. Remove pin (4). Lower the rod end of the lift cylinder.4. Fasten the hoist as shown to the lift cylinder. 5. Remove bolt (5) that holds pin assembly (6) for the head end of the lift cylinder.6. Remove pin assembly (6).7. Remove lift cylinder (7). The weight is 100 lb. (45 kg).Install Lift Cylinder (931B)
1. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease on the bores for the pins. 2. Fasten a hoist and put lift cylinder (1) in position.3. Install pin (2) that holds the head end of lift cylinder (1) in place. Install the bolt that holds the pin in place. 4. Lift the lift cylinder into position. Install pin (3) that holds the rod end of the lift cylinder in the lift arms.5. Install plate (4). 6. Connect oil lines (5) to the tube assemblies. 7. Remove support bracket (6) from the opposite lift cylinder. See INSTALL AND REMOVE SUPPORT BRACKET. Remove tooling (A) if both lift cylinders were removed.8. Fill the hydraulic system with oil to the correct level. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease in the fittings for the head end and rod end bearings.
