Start By:a. remove brake shoesb. remove brake camshafts and slack adjusters 1. Remove the oil for the differential from the bevel gear case.2. Fasten Tooling (A) to the axle housing as shown.3. Remove the nuts that hold the axle housing in position. Use a lift truck and Tooling (A) to remove axle housing (1) from the scraper. The weight of the axle housing is approximately 385 Kg (850 lb). 4. Remove O-ring seal (2) from the axle housing. 5. Remove studs (3) and plate (4) from the frame if a replacement is necessary.Install Axle Housings
1. Put 2P-2506 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of each stud. Install studs (1) in the scraper frame. Tighten the studs to a torque of 350 40 N m (258 30 lb ft).2. Install plate (2). 3. Install O-ring seal (3) on the axle housing. 4. Install Tooling (A) on the axle housing. Use a lift truck to put axle housing (4) in position on the scraper. The weight of the axle housing is approximately 385 Kg (850 lb).5. Put 2P-2506 Anti-Seize Compound on both sides of the washers. Install the washers and nuts that hold the axle housing in position. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 710 25 N m (523 18 lb ft).6. Fill the bevel gear case with oil for the differential to the correct level.
