start by:a) remove engine front supportb) remove fan drivec) remove fan belt tightenerd) remove alternator 1. Remove bracket (1) from the timing gear cover and cylinder head. 2. Remove three bolts (2) that hold primary fuel filter bracket (3) in place.3. Remove four bolts (4) that hold the timing gear plate to the timing gear cover. 4. Remove bolts (5), (6) and (7) that hold the water pump to the timing gear plate. 5. Install tooling (A) and fasten a hoist as shown. Remove bolts (8) that hold the timing gear cover to the cylinder block. 6. Remove timing gear cover (9). The weight is 50 lb. (23 kg).Install Timing Gear Cover
1. Install a new gasket on the timing gear plate. Put a small amount of clean oil on the crankshaft front seal and on the crankshaft wear sleeve. 2. Install tooling (A) and fasten a hoist to the timing gear cover. Put timing gear cover (1) in position on the timing gear plate. Install the bolts that hold the timing gear cover to the cylinder block. Cut the cover gasket so it is even with the bottom of the cylinder block and timing gear cover. 3. Install four bolts (3) that hold the timing gear plate to the timing gear cover.4. Put primary fuel filter bracket (2) in position and install the three bolts that hold it. Make sure the clip is installed on the center bolt. 5. Install bracket (4). 6.
