Parking Brake
Do not apply the parking brake while the machine is moving unless an emergency exists. The use of the parking brake as a service brake in regular operation will cause severe damage to the parking brake system.
The parking brake knob is located on the operator's console.Push knob down to apply the parking brake. The parking brake indicator light on the knob should light when the parking brake is applied.Pull knob up to release the parking brake. The parking brake indicator light on the knob should turn off when the parking brake is released. The parking brake is automatically applied when the engine is stopped. Release the parking brake before moving the machine.Steering Wheel
The steering frame lock link must be removed to steer the machine. See Before Starting the Engine for information.The directional steering, of the machine, is controlled by the steering wheel. Left Turn - Turn the steering wheel in a counterclockwise direction to turn the machine to the left. The farther the steering wheel is turned in a counterclockwise direction, the sharper the left turn. Right Turn - Turn the steering wheel in a clockwise direction to turn the machine to the right. The farther the steering wheel is turned in a clockwise direction, the sharper the right turn.Foot Operated Parking Brake (If Equipped)
Push on the switch to apply the parking brake.Accelerator Handle
Move accelerator handle clockwise to increase engine speed. Move the accelerator handle counterclockwise to reduce engine speed.Move the accelerator handle all the way up to the detent for high idle. Move the accelerator handle down to the detent position for low idle. Move the accelerator handle all the way down past the detent to stop the engine. The accelerator handle should be at the high idle position for normal operation.Propel Control Lever
Located in the operator's station on the right side of the seat. To start the machine moving, forward or reverse, the operator must be seated and the propel control lever must be in the neutral position.Machine speed will increase as the propel control lever is moved away from the center detent and decrease as the lever is moved toward the center detent. Forward (1) - Slowly push the propel control lever forward, away from center, to move the machine forward. The farther forward the lever is pushed the faster the machine will travel. Neutral (2) - Move the propel control lever to the NEUTRAL position to stop the machine. Reverse (3) - Slowly pull the propel control lever back, away from center, to move the machine backward. The farther back the lever is pulled the faster the machine will travel.Vibration Control
Vibration Switch
A switch on the propel control lever controls the drum vibration system. On - Depress the vibration switch to turn the vibration system ON. Off - Depress the vibration switch (again) to turn the vibration system OFF. If equipped, the vibration will shut off automatically when the propel lever is in the neutral position.Water Spray System
