Information:
Remove And Install Inlet Air Heater
1. Disconnect the power cable from the solenoid post indicated by the arrow. Remove nut (1) and disconnect the power supply cable from the inlet air heater. Remove two bolts (6) and remove the solenoid.2. Remove nut (7) and disconnect ground strap (8) from inlet air heater (3). Mark orientation of the inlet air heater for installation purposes.3. Remove bolts (4) and remove inlet air elbow (5) with the gasket. Remove inlet air heater (3) with screen and gasket (2). The following steps are for the installation of the inlet air heater.
Positioning and orientation of the heater and screen are very important. The screen must be on the inlet manifold side of the heater. The heater must be installed as illustrated. Damage to the engine could occur if the position and orientation of the screen and heater is not correct.
4. Position screen and gasket (2), heater (3) and inlet air elbow (5), with gasket. Install bolts (4) and tighten bolts down evenly.5. Position ground strap (8) and install nut (7). Tighten nut (7) to a torque of 7.8 1.0 N m (69.4 9 lb.in.)6. Position the solenoid and install two bolts (6). Position the power supply cable on the inlet heater and install nut (1). Tighten nut (1) to a torque of 7.8 1.0 N m (69.4 9 lb.in.). Connect the power cable to the solenoid post indicated by the arrow.
