Remove Brake Pedal Group
1. Remove two panels (1) that are covers for the brake pedal linkage and cables. 2. Remove twelve point bolt (4) from the back of pedal (2). Then slide the pedal and washer (3) off the splined shaft. 3. Remove channel bracket (7) and spring (8). Remove the two bolts and washers that hold angle stop (9), then remove the cotter pin, two washers and pin (5) from the lever which holds the cable.4. Slide the shaft and lever (6) and washer out of the bearing assembly and remove it from the machine. 5. Remove bolt (11) and slide shaft (10) from lever (6). 6. Remove large nut (14) and washers (12) from one side of bearing retainer assembly (13). Remove the bearing retainer assembly and second nut and washer from opposite side. 7. Remove the second nut and washer from the retainer assembly. Remove seal (15) from retainer (16) and remove two bearings (17) and a spacer.8. Remove the seal from the opposite side of retainer (16).Install Brake Pedal Group
1. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on bearings (2) and (5) and install them and spacer (3) in retainer (4).2. Install lip type seals (1) and (6) in retainer (4) with tooling (A). Install the seals until they make contact with the bearings in the retainer and with the lip of the seal toward the outside of the retainer as shown. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the lip of seal. 3. Install nut and washer on retainer assembly (7). Install the retainer assembly into the hole in the frame. Install washer (8) and nut (9) from opposite side of frame to the retainer assembly. 4. Put retainer assembly in the center of bracket (10) as follows: a) Turn nuts (9) until the end of retainer (7) is .62 in. (15.7 mm) from the side of bracket (10) (dimension A).b) Tighten nuts (9) to a torque of 100 10 lb.ft. (135 14 N m). 5. Install lever (12) on shaft (11). Install bolt (13) in the lever and tighten it. 6. Install lever and shaft assembly (15) with a washer between the lever and nut as shown. Connect end (16) of the cable to lever assembly (15) with pin and washer (14). Install washer and cotter pin in the opposite side of pin (14) to hold it in position. 7. Install spring (19) on the pin in the lever assembly. Install angle stop (18) against the lever with two bolts and lockwashers to bracket (10). Install pedal (17) and a washer on the splined shaft of the lever assembly so it is approximately 3.75 in. (95.3 mm) from the floor. Install and tighten the bolt in the back of the pedal. 8. Adjust angle stop (18) against lever (15) to hold pedal (17) 3.25 in. (82.6 mm) (dimension B) above pedal stop (20) on the floor plate. 9. Install channel bracket (21) to frame bracket (10). 10. Install two panels (22) and (23) below the steering column.
