code F383 will be shown whenever a conflict occurs in non-volatile memory locations for the programmable downshift constant.
Perform the Up Shift/Down Shift Function procedure as detailed in the topic Transmission (Programmable Upshift) of the Operation & Maintenance Manual listed under Operating The Tractor. The procedure will reset the memory constants. Also see the topic Mode 10 - Transmission Calibration Review And Programming in the Systems Operation section of this service manual (Function C7 and C8 is the Shift Constant). Is the fault code no longer active?
YES, repair complete.
NO, go to Step 2.
Download latest control module software into all control modules. Is the fault code active?
YES, go to Step 3.
NO, repair is complete. Calibrate transmission and three-point hitch.
Replace the Chassis Control Module (CCM). Repeat the Mode 10 - Calibration of Shift Constant procedure. Is the fault code active?
YES, install the original CCM and repeat this troubleshooting procedure.
NO, go to Step 4.
Install the original CCM. Is the fault code active?
YES, original CCM was faulty. Replace original CCM with new CCM. Repeat the Mode 10 - Calibration of Shift Constant procedure. Check fault codes. If fault code is not active, repair is complete. Download latest control module software into all modules. Calibrate transmission and three-point hitch.
