Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly Manual for information on catalyst replacement.There are several key factors that will dictate catalyst life, including but not limited to the following: specific work cycle the engine will be subjected to, overall load factor, engine exhaust flows and temperatures, engine oil consumption and fuel types. The amount of DEF consumed by your system is not a direct contributor to catalyst life. Caterpillar recommends that you consult your Cat dealer to determine your specific SCR catalyst replacement interval and repair strategy. Data captured through the system ECM software can also be used to help estimate catalyst life . Table 1 is a guideline for what to expect for estimated catalyst life. These values are estimates only and may differ from your specific application and system based on the mentioned factors that affect actual life. Refer to table for catalyst replacement based on load factor and service hours.
