Raise the temperature of bearing cone (90) and install bearing cone (90) onto gear assembly (84).

Install plate (89). Install retaining ring (88) onto adapter (87).

Install adapter (87) onto gear assembly (84). Install retaining ring (86).

Raise the temperature of bearing cone (85) and install bearing cone (85) onto the other side of gear (84).

Lower the temperature of bearing cup (82) and install bearing cup (82) into adapter (80). Do not install seal (83) at this time.

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (J) to adapter (80). The weight of adapter (80) is approximately 30 kg (65 lb). Install adapter (80).

Install bolts (79). Tighten bolts (79) to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft). When possible, rotate either the torque converter or the outer housing to ensure that the bearings are properly seated.

Use Tooling (M) to check bearing end play. The bearing end play must be 0.15 0.05 mm (0.006 0.002 inch). Remove shims or add shims (91) that were previously installed to attain the correct bearing end play. Remove adapter (80).
Repeat Steps 69 through 78 for the other pump adapter.

Use Tooling (H) to install seal (83) into adapter (80). Lubricate seal (83) with clean oil. Bearing cup (82) was previously installed.

Install O-ring seals (81) to adapter (80).

Install the correct number of shims (91) that was determined in Step 78.
Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (J) to adapter (80). The weight of adapter (80) is approximately 30 kg (65 lb).
Install adapter (80).

Install the modulating valve for the torque converter impeller clutch. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Modulating Valve (Torque Converter Impeller Clutch) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the modulating valve for the torque converter lockup clutch. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Modulating Valve (Torque Converter Lockup Clutch) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Install the torque converter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
