Installation Procedure
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Use a suitable lifting device in order to position fuel tank (19) on the upper structure. The approximate weight of the fuel tank is 35 kg (77 lb).

Remove the lifting device, and slide fuel tank (19) into position. Install bolts (18) .

Connect harness assembly (17). Use a new cable strap in order to secure the harness assembly to the fuel tank.

Position bracket (16), and install bolts (15) .

Position plate assembly (14), and install bolts (13) .

Position the circuit breaker assembly on the plate assembly and install bolts (12) .

Position floormat (11) and plate assembly (10). Install screws (9) .

Connect hose (6) and (8). Install hose clamp (5) and (7). Tighten the hose clamps. Use new cable straps in order to secure the fuel hoses to the fuel tank.

Position fender (4), and install bolts (3) .

Position hood assembly (2), and install bolts (1). End By: Install the battery. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Battery - Remove and Install" for the proper installation procedure.
