Connect the VIMS Communicator to the various devices using the wiring diagram.Refer to Systems Operation, KENR8253, "Connections".
After powering the device up, the Communicator will be assigned an Internet Protocol (IP) address if a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server is available on the network.Note: If the device does not see a DHCP server, the device will fall back to an IP address of 192.168.0.100.
To find the IP Address of the Communicator box that was assigned by a DCHP server, run the VIMS Communicator Toolkit program from a PC. For more details, refer to Systems Operation, KENR8254-00, "VIMS Communicator Toolkit".
Type the IP address of the box into the address bar of any browser.
On the network settings page change the IP address of the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server to match the IP address of the server where you want to upload files. Also supply the credentials for this FTP server.
On the "File Downloads" page, select which files you want to download and schedule when you want those downloads to occur.
