Note: When the measurements are taken, make sure that the measurements are accurate and correct.
Lift the front of the truck until the front wheels are off the ground and the strut rods in the suspension cylinders are fully extended.
Move the wheels to a straight ahead position.
Measure distance (F) between the front tires at the front. Mark the measurement locations of distance (F) on the front of each tire.
Rotate the tires by 180 degrees.
Measure distance (B) between the marks on the back of each tire that were made in Step 3.
Use Table 2 in order to determine the correct toe-out when the front wheels are off the ground.Note: The result of using the formula that is shown in Table 2 should be a measurement that is close to zero toe for a loaded truck.

If the difference that was found in Step 6 is not correct, adjust the steering link. Refer to Step 8 through Step 11 for the adjustment procedure.
Loosen clamps (1) on the ends of steering link (2) .
Attach chain wrench group (AA) to steering link (2) .
Adjust steering link (2) in order to get the correct Toe-Out by turning steering link (2) .
Use the procedure in "Clamp Positioning" in order to align the steering link with the clamp assembly. Failure to correctly locate the clamp assembly on the steering link could shorten the service life of the steering link assembly.

Align clamps (3) and bolts (4) to the tie rod, as shown. Orient the gaps between clamps (3) and the slots in steering link (2), as shown. This will ensure clearance at final assembly. Apply alternate torque to nuts (5) in order to ensure an equal gap between the two clamps on both sides.ReferenceRefer to Specifications, "Steering Linkage and Cylinder Mounting" for additional information.
