Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Inspect all of the components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.

Install steering column (7). Install bolts (6).

Install steering column cover (5). Install screws (4).

Connect harness assemblies (3).

Install cable strap (2). Install the steering column to the splined shaft. Apply Tooling (A) to nut (1). Install nut (1). Tighten nut (1) to a torque of 102 2 N m (75 1 lb ft).
Turn the power disconnect switch to the ON position. End By:
Install the air control valve (manual retarder). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Control Valve (Manual Retarder) - Install".
