G3520 (5XW124-UP) EnginesDescription of Change: An improvement has been made to the oil filter groups for all commercial 3500 series engines with an element type filter. The oil filter groups contain a new adapter assembly which provides for better seating of the oil filter elements in the oil filter housing. This improvement will help prevent oil from bypassing the filters during cold start-up due to differences in oil viscosity and manufacturing tolerances of the filter elements when competitive filters are used by the customer.Adaptable To: The original 2W-8378 Adapter is replaced by the new 155-1690 Adapter Assembly. The original 2W-9299 Filter Housing Cover is replaced by the new 157-0443 Cover Assembly. These components are effective with the serial numbers listed above. The new 155-1690 Adapter Assembly can be adapted to earlier filter groups. An 8.2 mm (.323 in) hole must be drilled in the filter housing in the position indicated by the following drawings.
