Open the left side engine door and remove the heat wrap.

Typical Example
Note and mark the location for clamp assembly (5). Loosen clamp assembly (5) .
Disconnect soot sensor (6), temperature sensor (3), and pressure sensor (4) .
Loosen clamp assembly (1) and slide the clamp assembly away from diesel oxidation catalyst (7) .
Attach a suitable lifting device to diesel oxidation catalyst (7). Disconnect strap (2) and remove the catalyst.
Discard clamp assembly (1) .Installation Procedure
Install diesel oxidation catalyst (7) in reverse order.Note: Do not use power tools when tightening components.
Install new clamp assembly (1). Tighten clamp assembly (1) to a torque of 50 1 N m (37 1 lb ft). Do not use power tools in order to tighten clamp assembly (1) .

Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of strap (2) to Dimension (X). Dimension (X) is 25 mm (1.0 inch) above the trunnion. Tighten strap (2) to a torque of 17 2 N m (146 13 lb in).

Clamp assembly (5) is to be in the center of the joint. Dimensions (X) and (Y) are to be equal within 2.0 mm ( 0.08 inch) at any X-Section around the circumference.
Center clamp assembly (5) according the marks made in Step 2 of the removal procedure. Reference Illustration 3 for further instruction. Tighten to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
Tighten temperature sensor (3) and soot sensor (6) to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 4 lb ft).
