A - Loctite 771 1 Start By:
Remove the exhaust pipe.
Open the left side engine door and remove the heat wrap.

Note and mark the location for clamp assembly (5) . Loosen clamp assembly (5) .
Disconnect soot sensors (6) , temperature sensor (3) , and pressure sensor (4) .
Put identification Marks (B) on both sides of clamp assemblies (2) for installation purposes.
Put identification Mark (C) on the diesel particulate filter (7) for installation purposes. Identification Mark (C) is showing the flow of exhaust gases through the diesel particulate filter.
Loosen clamp assemblies (1) . Discard clamp assemblies (1) after removal of diesel particulate filter (7) .
Disconnect clamp assembly (2) .Note: Do not allow any objects to contact the internal element of the diesel particulate filter . Do not bump or shake the filter assembly.
Use two people to remove diesel particulate filter (7) . The weight of diesel particulate filter (7) is approximately 35 kg (77 lb).Installation Procedure
Install diesel particulate filter (7) in the reverse order of removal. Note: Do not use power tools when tighten components.
Install new clamp assembly (1) . Tighten clamp assembly (1) to a torque of 50 1 N m (37 1 lb ft). Do not use power tools in order to tighten clamp assembly (1) .

Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of clamp assembly (2) to Dimension (X) . Dimension (X) is 25 mm (1.0 inch) above the trunnion. Tighten clamp assembly (2) to a torque of 16.5 1.5 N m (146 13 lb in).

Clamp assembly (5) is to be in the center of the joint. Dimensions (X) and (Y) are to be equal within 2.0 mm ( 0.08 inch) at any X-Section around the circumference.
Center clamp assembly (5) according the marks made in Step 2 of the removal procedure. Reference Illustration 4 for further instruction. Tighten to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
Tighten temperature sensor (3) and soot sensors (6) to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 4 lb ft)., End By: Reset the engine ash model. Refer to Special InstructionREHS5026.
