Assembly Procedure
Note: Refer to the Parts Manual for the repair kit.Note: The 4GZ and ATY have two extra fittings at the bottom of the valve. The 4GZ and ATY have no fittings at the top of the valve.

Assemble the check valve assembly in the following manner:
Install valve (36), spring (32), and dowel (37) in body (35). Note: Lightly lubricate the bore with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Install O-ring seal (33) on plug (34). Install the assembly.
Install O-ring seal (31) and O-ring seal (30) on body (35).

Install check valve assembly (11) in body (3) of the brake valve.

Assemble the relief valve assembly in the following manner:
Install gasket (25), nut (24), and cap (23). Tighten nut (24) to a torque of 17 2 N m (12.5 1.5 lb ft). Tighten cap (23) to a torque of 17 2 N m (12.5 1.5 lb ft).
Install O-ring seal (26), O-ring seal (27), and O-ring seal (28) on valve assembly (29).
Install relief valve assembly (8) in body (3) of brake valve. Tighten the relief valve to a torque of 65 N m (47.9 lb ft).

Assemble the air cylinder assembly in the following manner:
Failure to follow the recommended procedure or the specified tooling that is required for the procedure could result in damage to components.To avoid component damage, follow the recommended procedure using the recommended tools.
Note: The head and piston assemblies must be carefully pressed into the housing. The cylinder assembly is constructed of aluminum and the cylinder assembly can easily be scratched. Avoid damaging the piston, the seals, or the cylinder wall. During installation, the head and the piston may bind at the slot of the retaining ring.
Install seal (13), ring (14), and seal (15) on piston (16).
Install the piston assembly in housing (22).
Install seal (17) and seal (19) to head (18).
Install the head assembly, retaining ring (21), and O-ring seal (20).

Use two bolts (1) and two washers to install air cylinder assembly (2) on the brake valve.
Install shims (5), spring (12), and spool (4).
Install O-ring seal (6) on plug (7). Install the assembly.
Install O-ring seal (10) on plug (9). Install the assembly. End By:
Install the brake valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Brake Valve (Parking Brake Release) - Install" for the correct procedure.
