Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Use Tooling (F) in order to clean the shaft assembly and the counterbore in the housing.
Use Tooling (C) in order to install oil seal (5) into the water pump housing. Install the oil seal with the part number toward the housing. Ensure that the oil seal is flush with the housing. Do not lubricate the seal.
Install bearing (8) onto shaft assembly (11) .
Install shaft assembly (11) into housing (12) .
Use Tooling (B) in order to install retaining ring (10) .
Use Tooling (D) and a suitable press to install water seal (13) onto shaft assembly (11). Install the water seal with the part number Upward. Ensure that the water seal is flush against the pump housing. Do not lubricate the seal.
Use a suitable press to install impeller (14) onto shaft assembly (11). The impeller should be flush with the top of the shaft assembly.
Use a suitable press to install gear (9). Install the gear to a height of Dimension (X). Dimension (X) is 29.3 mm (1.15 inch). Use Tooling (E) in order to measure Dimension (X) .
Install bearing (8). Ensure that the bearing is flush with the gear.
Install hex washer (4) and hex socket head bolt (7).
Install a new gasket and the cover. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 18 3 N m (13 2 lb ft).

Install tube assembly (2) .
Install elbow (1) on water pump (3) .End By: Install the water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Pump - Install".
