Re-calibrate the tilt linkage sensor. See Testing and Adjusting, "Position Sensor for the Lift and Tilt Linkage (Electronic Technician) - Calibrate". Monitor the tilt linkage sensor duty cycle from the status parameters at the top of the calibration screen on Caterpillar ET.
Navigate to the status screen that will allow you to monitor the duty cycle for the tilt linkage position sensor.
Start the engine. Level the bucket to the horizontal position.
Monitor the duty cycle while the bucket is in the fully raised position. Monitor the duty cycle while the bucket is in the fully lowered position.
Install a 9U-7330 Digital Multimeter with a 7X-1710 to the connector for the ECM. Connect the multimeter to contacts J2-33 and J1-70. Verify that the duty cycle is within the 10% to 90% range.
Verify that the duty cycle range is valid for specific bucket positions. The recommended duty cycle range for fully raised and fully lowered are as below:

Fully dumped     7% to 50%    After performing the above steps, move the tilt linkage in the following order:
Fully raise the linkage, dump the bucket and note the tilt linkage sensor duty cycle.
Fully lower the linkage, rackback the bucket and note the tilt linkage sensor duty cycle.
Verify that the 351-00 diagnostic code (tilt linkage sensor valid but above normal operating range) is not logged from the ET logged diagnostic screen.Expected Result:The duty cycle is between 10% and 90%. The fully raised duty cycle range is between 50% - 90% and the lift linkage fully lowered and bucket fully racked back duty cycle range is between 10% - 50%.Results:
YES - The duty cycle is correct.STOP
NO - The duty cycle is not correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.Test Step 3. SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK AND REPLACEMENT.
