Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine.To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key.Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on.
Personal injury or death can result from machine articulation or movement.Machine frames can move and a person can be crushed.Connect the steering frame lock between the front and rear frames before working on machine. Secure the pins with the retainer pins.Before operating the machine, fasten the steering frame lock into the stored position and secure the pins with the retainer pins.Failure to lock into the stored position before operating can result in loss of steering.
Steering Frame Lock in the Stored Position1. To connect the steering frame lock, put the machine in a straight ahead position.2. Remove the retainer pins from pins (1), (2), (3) and (4). Remove pins (1) and (2) from the front and rear frames.
Steering Frame Lock in the Locked Position3. Remove the steering frame lock from the stored position on the rear frame. Slide the steering frame lock into position between the front and rear frames. Be sure the bores in the lock are in alignment with the bores in the front and rear frames. Install pins (1) and (2) and the retainer pins that hold them. Install the retainer pins in pins (3) and (4).Separation Procedure
