Attach tow line to rear tow pin only.
To protect the operator on the towing vehicle, if the tow line breaks, shielding must be provided on the towing vehicle.Take up tow line slack slowly. Do not jerk the tow line. Tow line might break.
Do not tow faster than 5 MPH (8 km/hr).
1. If a power train failure is suspected, remove the axle shafts (4) and the transmission input drive shaft before towing.
With all four axle shafts or front and rear drive shafts removed there is NO EMERGENCY BRAKE.
2. Keep the tow line angle to a minimum. Do not exceed 30° angle from the straight ahead position.3. After attaching the tow line, slowly move the towing vehicle to take up any slack in tow line. From a distance observe line for stretch or breaks.4. Steer in direction of tow line pull.5. Be prepared to apply service brakes.6. Block wheels when stopped.With Engine Inoperable and No Steering or Brake Control
Personnel must not be on the machine when it is being towed with the engine stopped.Do not push the machine with engine stopped.Use a tow bar equipped with bumper blocks, which restrict the angle permitted between the machine and the towing vehicle, fastened to the machine tow pin.If a tow line must be used, a second vehicle must be attached to the opposite end of the machine being towed, and the second vehicle must brake when going downhill.
Perform the following steps before towing machine with engine stopped. 1. Block wheels.2. Manually release the parking brake by removing the bolts from the storage holes. 3. Install the bolts in the forcing holes. Tighten until a solid resistance is felt. 4. Reverse the steering cylinder hoses on ONE cylinder, so the steering cylinders can move freely.5. Inspect machine for power train damage. Remove all four axle shafts if damage is suspected.6. Fasten tow bar, remove wheel blocks and tow slowly. Do not tow faster than 5 MPH (8 km/hr).
After repair, remove bolts from emergency brake housing, so it will function properly. Reconnect steering hoses, so steering will function normally.
