Remove the tire and rim assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove and Install".
Remove the axle shaft and sun gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install".

Install Tooling (A) on planetary carrier (1). Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to Tooling (A) .
Remove bolts (2) which attach planetary carrier (1) to final drive, brake and wheel (3). Remove planetary carrier (1). The weight of planetary carrier (1) is 225 kg (495 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (4) from planetary carrier (1) .

Install Tooling (B) on final drive, brake and wheel (3). Attach a hoist and suitable lifting slings to Tooling (B) and final drive, brake and wheel (3), as shown.
Remove bolts (5) and the washers. Use a hoist to remove final drive, brake and wheel (3). The weight of final drive, brake and wheel (3) is 420 kg (924 lb).

Remove three bolts (6) and the washers that attach brake piston assembly (7) to the axle housing.

Remove brake piston assembly (7). The weight of brake piston assembly (7) is 16 kg (35 lb).
Remove O-ring seal (8) from brake piston assembly (7) .
Remove O-ring seal (9) from the brake port.

Place the assembly in the vertical position. The spindle for the brake should be on the ground. Remove bolts and washers (10) .

Install Tooling (C) on wheel assembly (13). Attach a hoist and suitable lifting slings to Tooling (C). Use a hoist to remove wheel assembly (13) from spindle assembly (14). The weight of wheel assembly (13) is 500 kg (1100 lb). The weight of spindle assembly (14) is 145 kg (320 lb).
