( 1 ) In order to use a non-Caterpillar lubricant, the supplier must certify that the lubricant is compatible with Caterpillar's grease. Otherwise, each pin joint should be fully flushed with the new lubricant in order to entirely remove the Caterpillar lubricant. Failure to meet this requirement may lead to failure of a pin joint due to premature breakdown of the lubricant.System Components
