Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the pilot valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pilot Valve (Implement) - Remove" in this manual. Note: The pilot valve for the implement and the pilot valve for the swing boom are identical. The following procedure will disassemble both valves.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove rubber pedal (1).
Remove two bolts (2).
Remove pedal assembly (3).
Remove two washers (4).
Remove boot (5).

Remove set screw (6).
Remove pin (11).
Remove pedal (7).
Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
Carefully remove two bolts (8).
Carefully remove cover (10).
Remove two pushrods (16) from cover (10).
Remove two O-ring seals (9) from cover (10).

Remove two O-ring seals (14) from cover (10).
Remove two shims (19).
Remove seat (12).
Remove spring (13).
Remove washer (15).
Remove three shims (17).
Remove spool (18).
Remove spring (21).
Repeat Step 14 through Step 20 in order to disassemble the other spool assembly.
Remove two pins (20) from valve body (22).
