****Affected Product****
- Inspect and verify the head bolt type.
- If 12 point head bolts are found and are tight, perform the Before Failure Rework.
- If a 12 point bolt is loose, missing, or broken, perform the After Failure Rework.
- If some other head bolt type is used, no additional rework is required.
Action Required is completed when all 12 point head bolts on boom, stick, and bucket cylinders have been tightened with the torque-turn process.
Before Failure Rework - Remove and tighten one bolt at a time. Remove one 12 point head bolt at a time on boom, stick, and bucket cylinders and follow the torque-turn process detailed below:
1. Mark the bolt. Refer to Image1.
2. Tighten the bolt to a specified torque of 300 N.m (220 lb-ft).
3. Mark the work surface. Refer to Image2.
4. Turn the socket 30 degrees to align A with B. Refer to Image2 and 3.
After Failure Rework - Remove and tighten one bolt at a time. If a 12 point head bolt is broken, loose, or missing during inspection, replace with a socket head bolt from Image4. Follow the torque-turn process detailed below:
1. Mark the bolt. Refer to Image5.
2. Torque the bolt to a specified torque of 300 N.m (220 lb-ft).
3. Mark the work surface. Refer to Image6.
4. Turn the socket 30 degrees to align A with B. Refer to Image6 and 7.

Note: 0.5 hours is allowed for inspection and if none of the cylinder head bolts need to be reworked.
Note: A total of 5.5 hours is allowed for Before or After Failure rework on boom, stick, and bucket cylinders, and cost any new bolts.
