Install the gasket and two bolts (3) that hold the oil drain tube to the turbocharger. Put the oil supply tube in position and install the gasket and two bolts (1) that hold the oil supply tube to the turbocharger. Tighten nut (4) .Testing and Adjusting
ReferenceRefer to Testing and Adjusting, SENR5594, "Governor - Adjust".Engine Settings
An engine performance validation run MUST be performed on a dyno upon the completion of the emissions upgrade. If possible, confirm the dyno and fuel flow meter have been calibrated before the EUG engine is connected to the dyno. Per EPA requirements, the following parameters must fall within the ceiling/floor ranges specified of the designated test spec, in order to receive an engine label:
High Idle Speed
Low Idle Speed
Full Load Speed
Power at Full Load Speed
Fuel Burn Rate at Full Load Speed
Torque Check Speed
Torque at Torque Check Speed
Fuel Burn Rate at Torque Check SpeedIf any of these parameters do not fall within specifications, the FLS/FTS settings should be adjusted until all specifications are met. A label can only be issued once all of the above mentioned parameters are within specifications.Note: The values from the dyno tests will be included on the engine labels. For this reason, it is important to have a calibrated dyno and fuel flow meters that can provide accurate measurements for the engine ratings being tested.Dual HP Instructions
After the installation of the Emission Upgrade Group, set the engine to the reference HIGH power FLS/FTS settings included in the test specifications. Refer to the following test specification Technical Marketing Information (TMI) for the correct engine specifications.
Table 18
Engine Specifications
Engine Serial Number    Specification Number    Power Setting Level
08Z     0K-7291     High
0k-7292 Low
Perform a dyno test with the solenoid in the high-power setting. Adjust the fuel pump/governor settings in order to get the above listed parameters to fall within the ceiling/floor range on the high-power test spec.
Submit a Validation Form with this information.
Switch the Solenoid to the Low-power setting.
Set the solenoid position to match the FLS/FTS settings listed in the LOW power test specifications. Refer to the above test specifications in Technical Marketing Information(TMI) for the correct specifications.
Perform a dyno test with the solenoid in the low-power setting. Adjust the solenoid(but do not adjust the other fuel pump/governor settings) in order to fall within the ceiling/floor range of the low-power test spec. The primary focus here is to satisfy the full load speed and full load power values for this low-power test spec.
Submit a 2nd Validation Form with this information(as this information is needed to fill out the new label you will receive). Include the solenoid setting as the FLS/FTS setting values on this second validation form.Note: It is recommended that the engine is not removed from the dyno until the validation form has been received and approved by Caterpillar engineering. This will reduce delays to the customer as adjustments to the engine settings are sometimes required. Caterpillar engineering is not authorized to provide an emission upgrade
