Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.
Check all the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install Tooling (A) to torque converter (5). Attach Tooling (A) to a suitable lifting device and a hoist. Use Tooling (A) and the hoist to position torque converter (5) for installation. The weight of torque converter (5) is 840 kg (1850 lb).
Use 15 bolts (27) and the washers to install torque converter (5) and the O-ring seals to the engine.
Install bolt (26), the washer, and one clip.
Remove Tooling (A) from torque converter (5).

Connect wire harness (25) at the electrical connection.
Connect wire harness (24) at the electrical connection.

Connect two hose assemblies (23) and (22).

Connect hose assembly (21).

Use four bolts (18) and the hard washers to connect block (20) and hose assembly (19) to the gear pump.

Remove bolt (17), the hard washer, and the clip to install hose assembly (15).
Position the clip around hose assembly (15) and install bolt (17) and the hard washer.

Connect three hose assemblies (14), (13), and (12) to the gear pump.

Connect three hose assemblies (11), (10), and (9) to the lockup clutch and synchronizing valve.

Connect hose assembly (7) to torque converter (5).

Attach a suitable lifting sling and a hoist to position drive shaft (4), as shown. The weight of drive shaft (4) is 45 kg (100 lb).
Use a suitable pry bar to extend drive shaft (4) until drive shaft (4) engages with the yoke assembly of the torque converter.
Install four bolts (3) to connect drive shaft (4) to the yoke assembly of the torque converter. Tighten four bolts (3) to a torque of 550 20 N m (405.7 14.8 lb ft).

Position guard (1) on the frame assembly for installation. Use five bolts (2) and the washers to install guard (1) to the frame assembly.
Fill the hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Hoist, Torque Converter and Brake Tank Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.End By:
Install the guard for the pump drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1500, "Drive Shaft Guard - Remove and Install".
Remove the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1500, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".
Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1500, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
