When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

Lower the temperature of bearings (18). Use Tooling (D) in order to install bearings (18) in arm assembly (15).

Use Tooling (E) in order to install seal (17) in arm assembly (15). Install thrust washers (16).

Install O-ring seals (13) in housing assembly (11) and install seals (14).

Attach a suitable lifting device to housing assembly (11). The weight of housing assembly (11) is approximately 136 kg (300 lb). Position housing assembly (11) on arm assembly (15). Lower the temperature of pins (12).

The lifting device is removed for clarity.
Use Tooling (F) in order to install pins (12) to a dimension of 2.0 0.5 mm (0.08 0.02 inch) above arm assembly (15). Remove the suitable lifting device.

Install washers (5) and bolts (4).
Install steering cylinder (8). Install nut (10) on tie rod (9). Use a standard wrench and Tooling (G) (not shown) to tighten nut (10) to 140 14 N m (103 10 lb ft). Install cotter pin (7).
Install link (1). Install nut (3) on tie rod (2). Use Tooling (G) (not shown) to tighten nut (3) to 140 14 N m (103 10 lb ft). Install cotter pin (6). End By:
Install the wheel and tire.
