1 2 137-9810 Packing Seal Before assembly, apply a thin film of lubricant to the dial.
2 1 6Y-0859 Duo-Cone Seal Gp Rubber toric seals must be clean and dry at assembly. All surfaces that contact the seal group must be clean and dry at assembly. Before assembly, apply a thin film of oil to the contacting surfaces of the metal seal rings. Seal rings must be assembled squarely with the bore. The toric ring must not bulge and the toric ring must not be twisted. Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS8364, "Assembly and Installation of Conventional Duo-Cone Seals".
B - - Gap required to ensure metal to metal clamp-up between the shaft and plate is 0.08 0.05 mm (0.003 0.002 inch).
Check that the gap before each plate is bolted to the shafts.
After the plates are bolted, make sure that the gears can turn freely. If the gears cannot turn freely, then drive the plates toward the carrier with the proper tooling.
3 3 7X-0346 Bolt Torque to 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).
4 1 419-4175 Lip Type Seal Lubricate the lip of the lip type seal lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed. Then install the lip type seal with the side that is marked “this side in” toward the spindle end of the spindle.
5 1 6V-0439 Magnetic Plug Torque to 105 10 N m (77 7 lb ft).
6 1 9S-4185 Plug Torque to 80 8 N m (59 6 lb ft).
7 10 467-4196 Special Bolt Torque to 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
8 33 8T-9399 Bolt Torque to 430 60 N m (317 44 lb ft).
