Description of Change: An improved clamp is used in order to fasten the tube assembly to the water pump elbow on the 3500 engines that are listed above. The clamp is more resistant to vibration. The clamp will prevent abrasion to the O-ring seals that seal the coolant bypass tube and the water pump elbow.Adaptable To: In the 8N-7719 Water Lines Gp, two 8N-3639 Retainers have been replaced by two 108-6170 Clamp As. Refer to Table 1 for the parts that are used with the clamp.

Install O-Ring seal (7) and centering ring (8) onto coolant bypass tube (3) .
Assemble clamps (9) onto bypass tube (3) .
In order to fasten the clamps, install the following components:
Bolts (6)
Washers (1)
Nuts (5)
Tighten the bolts so that the clamps remain in place on the tube.
Align the boss of clamp (9) with the bolt holes of elbow (4) .
Install two bolts (2) and two washers (1) onto the elbow.
Tighten bolts (2) .Torque ... 47 9 N m (35 7 lb ft)
Tighten bolts (6) .Torque ... 47 9 N m (35 7 lb ft)
