Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the turbochargers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".
Remove the water temperature regulator housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Temperature Regulator Housing - Remove and Install".

Remove locknuts (2) and spacers (1).
Remove exhaust manifold (3).
Remove exhaust manifold gaskets (4).
If necessary, remove the taperlock studs from the cylinder head. Installation Procedure

Tool Part Number Part Description Qty
A 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound -
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Install the taperlock studs in the cylinder head and tighten to a torque of 35 5 N m (26 4 lb ft).

Install exhaust manifold gaskets (4) on the taperlock studs.
Position exhaust manifold (3) on the taperlock studs. Install spacers (1). Note: Discard the locknuts after use. Use new locknuts for installation.
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of the taperlock studs. Install locknuts (2) and tighten to a torque of 38 5 N m (28 4 lb ft). End By:
Install the water temperature regulator housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Water Temperature Regulator Housing - Remove and Install".
Install the turbochargers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Install".
