Start By:
Remove the stick. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stick - Remove" in this manual.Note: For the removal of the bearings from the stick at the pin joint for the bucket control linkage, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bucket Linkage Bearings and Seals - Remove" in this manual.

Remove lip type seal (1) at the boom pin joint.

Fasten tooling (A), as shown.
Use Tooling (A) in order to remove the bearing.
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 in order to remove the lip type seal and the bearing on the opposite side of the stick.

Remove lip type seal (2) .

Fasten Tooling (A), as shown.
Use Tooling (A) in order to remove the bearing.
Repeat Steps 5 through 7 in order to remove the lip type seal and the bearing from the other side of the stick.Installation Procedure

(X) Stick (Y) Bearing
Lower the temperature of the sleeve bearing. Use Tooling (B) to install the sleeve bearing in the stick. Install the sleeve bearing until dimension (d) is 9.5 .8 mm (.37 .03 inch) below the outside surface of the stick.

Use Tooling (B) to install lip type seal (2). Install the lip type seal with the sealing lip toward the outside of the stick. Install the lip type seal until the lip type seal makes contact with the bearing.
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 in order to install the seal and the bearing on the other side of the stick.Note: Be sure that the pin bore in the stick is clean prior to installation of the bearings and lip type seals.

Lower the temperature of the bearing for the pin joint for the boom. Use Tooling (B) to install the bearing in the stick at the pin joint for the boom. Install the bearing in the pin bore until dimension (a) is 9.5 0.8 mm (.37 .03 inch).Note: Install lip type seals with the sealing lip toward the outside of the pin bore. The sealing lip prevents dirt and debris from entering the pin bores.

Use Tooling (B) to install lip type seal (1) in the stick at the pin joint for the boom. Install the seal until the seal makes contact with the bearing.
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 in order to install the bearing and the seal on the opposite side of the stick.End By: Install the stick. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stick - Install" in this manual.
