Remove bolts (3). Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto head (2). Use prybars to help in removing head (2). The weight of head (2) is approximately 140 kg (310 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (5). Remove ring (4).

Drain the oil from housing (6) into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Use Tooling (B) to Remove piston rod (7). The weight of piston rod (7) is approximately 1435 kg (3160 lb).
Position piston rod (7) horizontally.

Remove ring (8).
Attach a suitable lifting device onto piston (9). The weight of piston (9) is approximately 77 kg (170 lb).
Remove Tooling (B) .
Remove bolts (10).

Remove ball (11) as piston (9) is removed.

Remove bolt (12). Remove plate (13).

Push end (14) inward to remove retainers (15).

Use Tooling (C) and Tooling (D) to remove end (14).

Remove O-ring seal (16).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove gland (17).Note: New tooling (E) is available to allow horizontal removal of the gland.

Remove ring (23), O-ring seal (22), ring (21), ring (20), O-ring seal (19), and ring (18).
