Introduction
This special instruction describes where to use the 370-8028 Integral Seal and the 394-0295 Integral Seal. Verify that the correct integral seal is used prior to installing the cylinder head. If using a single cylinder head gasket kit for a field repair, verify that the kit contains the same integral seal part number as the integral seal that is removed from the engine.Reference Section
The 370-8028 Integral Seal (Standard Integral Seal) is for use on a cylinder block that has not had the top deck milled or on a cylinder block that has been milled. The cylinder block has a top deck height between 112.325 mm (4.4222 inch) and 112.675 mm (4.4360 inch).The 394-0295 Integral Seal (Thicker Integral Seal) is for use on a cylinder block that has had the top deck milled. The cylinder block has a top deck height between 112.000 mm (4.4094 inch) and 112.325 mm (4.4222 inch).Refer to Table 1 and Illustration 1 for additional information.
