The VIMS® Loader Payload System gives the operator the following two choices:
Enter a known calibration weight now.
Continue to the next calibration.
Press the Left/Up button or press the Down/Right button in order to select one of the following:
"Calibration Weight"
"Next Cal"Note: The calibration weight must be entered before the calibration is completed. However, if the value is not entered at this step, the VIMS® Loader Payload System will not be affected.
Press the "OK" button.
"Loaded Bucket Continuous Lift"In this Step 4, the VIMS® Loader Payload System collects bucket pressures samples over the full lift in order to calculate the loaded bucket lifting calibration curve.The calibration weight is required to be in the bucket. The calibration weight may be fabricated from a concrete or steel tube of the specified diameter for the 993K and filled with concrete. The calibration weight must be weighed on a certified scale in order to determine the exact weight. The following may also be used as a calibration weight:
A load of dirt
A load of rock

Press the "OK" button in order to start the calibration of a full bucket lift.

Lower the full bucket fully to the ground.
Press the "OK" button.

Lift the full bucket. Use the following techniques to lift the full bucket:
Fully rack back the bucket during the lift.
Maintain engine RPM at high idle. Throttle lock may be used to set the speed.
Lift the load smoothly by pulling back the lever fully.

The VIMS® Loader Payload System will instruct the operator to lift the full bucket again. Lift the bucket again. Follow the guidelines in Step 4.d.Note: The above steps in Step 2 will need to be repeated if the two full bucket lifts do not match.
When both full bucket lifts match, the Advisor will display "Calibration Complete".
Press the "OK" button in order to continue.
Velocity Compensation ("6 lifts") In this Step 5, the lifting velocity compensation calibration curve is calculated. The operator is instructed to perform five additional loaded lifts. The loaded lifts are performed at the following engine speeds: 1250 RPM, 1350 RPM, 1450 RPM, 1550 RPM, 1650 RPM and High Idle. Again, throttle lock may be used to set the engine speed.

Press the "OK" button in order to start the Full Bucket Velocity Compensation Calibration.

The operator is instructed to lower the full bucket fully to the ground. Then press the "OK" button.

The operator is instructed to lift the full bucket at 1250 RPM. Use the following techniques to lift the full bucket.

The VIMS® Loader Payload System will instruct the operator to repeat the above step for the following engine speeds.
