Machine Stopping
Park on a level surface. If it is necessary to park on a grade, block the wheels securely. 1. Move speed selection control (7) to the SLOW position.2. Move propel range switch (3) to the LOW position.3. Move power switch (6) on both operator consoles to the STOP position to stop the machine.4. Move park brake switch (5) to the ON position.5. Use switches (2) and (8) to lower the screed to the tow arm supports or blocks, and the hopper wings to their lowest point.
If it is necessary to leave the hopper wings raised, secure the wings together with a chain attached to the eyes in the wings, to avoid possible personal injury.
6. Move steering assist switch (1) to the OFF position.7. Hold engine speed switch (4) to the SLOW position until the engine is at low idle. Release the switch.Engine Stopping
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been working under load, can result in overheating and accelerated wear of the engine components.Refer to the following stopping procedure, to allow the engine to cool, and to prevent excessive temperatures in the turbocharger center housing, which could cause oil coking problems.
1. Before stopping the engine, operate it at low idle for five minutes with no load. This allows hot areas in the engine to cool gradually, extending engine life. 2. Turn the engine start switch to OFF and remove the key.3. Be sure all controls are in OFF, or their proper positions for parking the machine.Leaving the Machine
1. Inspect the engine compartment for debris. Clean out any debris and paper to avoid a fire. 2. If the machine is being parked for an extended period (overnight, etc.), turn off the disconnect switch.3. Install all vandalism protection locks and covers. 4. Use the steps and handholds, use both hands and face the machine, when dismounting.
