start by:a) remove generator 1. Remove bolts (3) to remove cowl assembly (2) and cowl cover (1) as a unit from the generator. 2. Remove the bolts to remove cover assembly (4) and door assembly (5) from the generator. 3. Remove terminal marker (6) and disconnect wires (7) (F1 and F2) from the regulator terminal strip. Pull wires (7) from the generator and fasten the wires out of the way of the rotor assembly. 4. Install tooling (A) on the hub of the rotor assembly. Use tool (B) to fasten a hoist to shackle assembly (8) and the eyebolt on tooling (A).5. Put marks on cowl brackets (9) and bracket assembly (10) to show the position and location of the cowl brackets for correct installation. Remove the bolts and cowl brackets (9) from the bracket assembly. 6. Put a piece of sheet metal (11) with a curve between the rotor assembly and the stator assembly. Make sure the piece of sheet metal is as long as the rotor assembly.
The rotor assembly must be kept level during removal to prevent damage to the windings.
7. Install two 5/8"-11 NC forcing screws in bracket assembly (12). Remove bracket assembly (12) and the rotor assembly as a unit from the generator. The weight of the unit is 1350 kg (3000 lb.).Install Rotor Assembly

1. Install tooling (A) on the hub of rotor assembly (3). Use tool (B) to fasten a hoist to shackle assembly (1) and tooling (A) as shown. Put a piece of sheet metal (2) on the rotor assembly as shown. Install rotor assembly (3) and bracket assembly (4) as a unit in the generator. 2. Install bolts (8) and cowl brackets (7) to hold the bracket assembly in position.
Wires (6) must be installed through plastic strap (5) to prevent damage to the wires by the rotor assembly.
3. Put wires (6) in position in the generator.4. Connect wires (6) (F1 and F2) to the regulator terminal strip and install terminal marker (9) on the regulator terminal strip. 5. Install cover assembly (10) and door assembly (11) on the generator. 6. Install cowl (13) and cowl cover (12) as a unit on the generator.end by:a) install generator
