Information:
* Inspect all hoses for leaks due to cracking, softness and loose clamps. Replace hoses that are cracked or soft. Tighten loose clamps.
Do not bend or strike high pressure lines. Do not install bent or damaged lines, tubes or hoses. Repair any loose or damaged fuel and oil lines, tubes and hoses. Leaks can cause fires. Inspect all lines, tubes and hoses carefully. Tighten all connections to the recommended torque.
Check for the following conditions:* End fittings that are damaged or leaking* Outer covering that is chafed or cut* Reinforcement wire that is exposed* Outer covering that is ballooning locally* Flexible part of the hose that is kinked or crushed* Armoring that is embedded in the outer coveringA constant torque hose clamp can be used in place of any standard hose clamp. Ensure that the constant torque hose clamp is the same size as the standard clamp. Due to extreme temperature changes, the hose will heat set. Heat setting causes hose clamps to loosen. Loose hose clamps can result in leaks. A constant torque hose clamp will help to prevent loose hose clamps. Each installation application can be different. The differences are dependent on the following factors:* Type of hose* Type of fitting material* Anticipated expansion or contraction of the hose* Anticipated expansion or contraction of the fittingsA torque wrench should be used for proper installation of the constant torque hose clamps.Replace The Hoses And The Clamps
The engine should be stopped before this procedure is performed.1. Loosen the cooling system filler cap slowly in order to relieve any pressure. Remove the cooling system filler cap.2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system to a level that is below the hose that is being replaced.3. Remove the hose clamps. Disconnect the old hose. Replace the old hose with a new hose.4. Install the hose clamps. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Specifications" in the Maintenance Section for more information on the proper torques.5. Add the proper coolant mixture to the cooling system. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Specifications" in the Maintenance Section for more information on cooling system specifications. Fill the system to the proper level.6. Clean and inspect the cooling system filler cap gasket. Replace the cooling system filler cap if the cooling system filler cap gasket is damaged. Install the cooling system filler cap. Start the engine and inspect the engine for cooling system leaks.
