Information:

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Lower the work tool to the ground.
Shut off the engine.
In order to release any pressure from the hydraulic tank, you must loosen the hydraulic tank filler cap slowly.
Tighten the filler cap.
Before you remove any hydraulic components from the machine make sure that all hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic system is relieved. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Relaese".

Remove hose (10) and hose (11) from the auxiliary valve that is on the machine.
Remove the two connector assemblies (12) from the auxiliary valve. There are two types of connector assemblies that are used on the machines. One is straight. The second is angled. Save the two connector assemblies that are removed from your machine. The connector assemblies will be installed later in the procedure.
Remove the electric wire (13) from the harness that is on the boom. Remove bolt (14) and the washer from the auxiliary valve. The bolt and the washer will be installed later in the procedure.

Install one 8T-4827 Seal (8) into each port on the top of the auxiliary valve.
Install the 179-1867 Diverter Valve (4) on top of the original auxiliary valve. Insert the four 3E-8006 Bolts (5) through both valves. Install one 5W-1437 Lockwasher (7) and one 5C-7261 Nut (6) on each bolt. Tighten the nuts to the standard torque.
Install the bolt (14) and the washer into the top hole in the new diverter valve. Torque the bolt to 13 1 N m (115.0 9.0 lb in).

Install the two connector assemblies (12) into the top of the new diverter valve. For machines with the elbow assemblies in the top ports, look downward onto the top of the connector. Turn the elbow assemblies to the right at an angle of 20 degrees from the left end of the diverter valve. Torque the connectors to 80 8 N m (60.0 6.0 lb ft).
Attach hose (10) in Illustration 3 to the left connector. Attach hose (11) in Illustration 3 to the right connector.
Install one 219-6331 Elbow As (3) into each port on the front of the new diverter valve.

Attach the 153-2995 Fitting As (2) to the left elbow assembly. Position the elbow assembly and the fitting assembly at a 45 2 degree angle in relation to the top of the diverter valve.
Attach the 153-2994 Fitting As (1) to the right elbow assembly. Position the elbow assembly and the fitting so that the center line of the fitting is at a 45 degree angle to the front of
