Improvements have been made to the assembly process for the final drives on the axles that are used on Backhoe Loaders and Telehandlers. Failures in the final drives (1) have been associated to improperly installed retaining rings (3) on the sun gear (2). When the retaining ring fails, damage occurs to the planetary reduction gears.Visual aids have been added to the assembly process. After the retaining ring is properly installed, paint is now applied to the retaining ring (3).
