Remove retainer plate (2).

Remove shim pack (3).

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to wheel assembly (4), as shown. The weight of wheel assembly (4) is approximately 127 kg (280 lb).
Remove wheel assembly (4) from spindle assembly (5).

Remove bearing cone (6) and Duo-Cone seal (7) from spindle (5). Bearing cone (6) is a slip fit to spindle (5).
Use the following procedure to install Tooling (B) in the hole of hub (8):

Place a suitable lifting device in the hole of hub (8).

Install the bolt between the suitable lifting device and the hole.

Fasten the suitable lifting device to the bolt by tying the suitable lifting device around the bolt, as shown. This will prevent the bolt from moving during the removal of hub (8).

Repeat Steps 7.a through 7.c in order to install Tooling (B) in the two remaining holes.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the lifting slings. The weight of hub (8) and ring gear (9) as a unit is approximately 68 kg (150 lb). Remove hub (8) and ring gear (9) from wheel assembly (4).

Remove Duo-Cone seal (10) from wheel assembly (4).

Remove bearing cups (11) and (12) from wheel assembly (4).

Remove bolts (13) and the washers from hub (8).

Remove retaining ring (14) from ring gear (9).

Use a suitable lifting device to remove hub (8) from ring gear (9). The weight of the hub (8) is approximately 32 kg (70 lb).
