Hot oil and components can cause injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
1. Machine must be level, oil warm, engine stopped, blade lowered with slight down pressure and parking brake applied. 2. Remove transmission drain plug and allow oil to drain. 3. Change filter element. See item (15). 4. Remove strainer cover and retaining bolts. 5. Remove tube and screen.
When using pressure air wear protective face shield and protective clothing. Maximum air pressure must be below 30 psi (205 kPa) for cleaning purposes.Use all cleaning solutions with care.
6. Wash tube, screen and magnets in clean, nonflammable solvent. 7. Clean magnets with a cloth, stiff fiber bristle brush or pressure air.
Do not drop or rap magnets against hard objects. Replace any damaged magnets.
8. Install tube and screen. Tighten retaining nuts.9. Install cover. Use a new gasket if necessary. 10. Remove breather and filler cap. 11. Wash breather in clean solvent.12. Oil element lightly and install breather. (If breather is made of plastic, install a new one.)13. Clean and install drain plug. 14. Fill transmission. See REFILL CAPACITIES. 15. Start engine and operate for a few minutes. Measure oil level. Oil should be up to FULL mark on gauge. Add oil if necessary.(21)Steering Shaft Lower Bearing
1. Remove filler plug. 2. Lubricate through opening with 2 or 3 squirts of oil.3. Clean and install filler plug.(22)Frame Lower Pivot Bearings
Lubricate 1 fitting.(23)Drive Shaft Universal Joints
1. Lubricate 1 fitting on front universal joint. 2. Lubricate 1 fitting in front universal of center shaft. Lubricate 1 fitting in rear universal of center shaft. 3. Lubricate 1 fitting on each rear universal joint. 4. Lubricate 2 fittings in transmission shaft universals. Total 7 fittings.(24)Drive Shaft Support Bearing
Lubricate fitting.(25)Drive Shaft Front Spline
Remove plug and install lube fitting. Lubricate. Remove fitting and install plug.
